Daily: Jack-O-Lantern - Dave Pryor

I've been playing this game called Viva Pinata. In the game, you lure cute little Pinatas into your garden in a variety of ways. One of the species you obtain in the game is a "Sherbat", which is lured by "tinkering" with a pumpkin and transforming it into a Jack-O-Lantern. So, long story short, here's my illustration of two Sherbats happily residing in my garden.

I started that game, but it didn't seem to go anywhere. Kinda like The Sims. I loved the design, but the gameplay wasn't my thing. Or did I not play long enough?

I played the game with my wife, and that kept me going. We'd work together and strategize our garden. It's actually a pretty tough game. You learn only by trial and error, and you need to expect to loose a lot of your Pinata residents. In the new game, there is a better interface for planting, and a new 2-4 player interface for co-op gardening. The reward of this game is nothing more than meeting the games set goals and getting those elusive pinatas. Its a time suck too. 6 hours of play feels like 2 hours have passed. What I like is that each animal has it's own animations for interacting, curiosity, playfulness, etc.

Who woulda thunk the inside of a pumpkin skull would make for a cozy home? Pinatas - that's who. Nice power glow on the inside - Cool man.
